Searching
This guide is extremely easy to use. To the left of this text you will see a link titled 'Search Now'. Click that link to go to the 'Search' page and begin your search.
The 'Search' page has five main boxes at the top and ten smaller ones below. To begin, enter information in as many of the four boxes as you wish. You must enter information in at least one of the boxes. Choosing an artist/group and leaving the rest of the fields blank will give you everything by that artist/group that is in the database. All artist names are first name last name. If the artist uses initials, like JJ Johnson or BB King, the correct entry will be J. J. Johnson or B. B. King. Adding the country field to the artist will give you everything from that country by that artist. Using just country will give you all of the entries in the database for that country. Please see the introduction for a list of the 60 countries available for search. The same applies for recording label. Use the drop down box to select the type of recording format you want to view.
The same type of entry applies to the ten small boxes at the bottom. Click on the box to search for that particular type of recording. Any of these boxes may be combined with the boxes at the top to help narrow your search for just the recordings you wish to view. You may you as many of the boxes as you wish. Make certain that the type of recording you are looking for matches the format you have chosen above. If it does not, you will not get any results.
When your selections have been made, click the 'Submit Form' button or use the 'Enter' key on your keyboard. Search time will depend on the size of your search, the number of persons using the site and the speed of your connection and system.
When the requested search has been completed, you will automatically be taken to the 'Results' page.
